On request, we can supply you with further information on each veterinarian or counseling/hospice professional listed, but we cannot vouch for any of them on an individual basis. These databases are designed to help you in your search for adequate animal hospice care or grief counseling, but the final decision on an animal health care provider or a therapist is yours alone. If you wish to ascertain in greater depth the reputation, training, and/or experience of these hospice veterinarians or counseling/hospice professionals, you are advised to contact the appropriate Veterinary Licensing Board or State Licensing Board in your state.

HOSPICE VETERINARIANS
 

Due to the high demand for names of veterinarians with an interest in this field and in a position to offer animal hospice care to their clients, our database contains an up-to-date list of all those hospice veterinarians of The NHFP who are available for consultation. Since the situation of each animal health care practitioner is unique, you may discover that some of them are not taking on new clients at any given time, so you may need to contact more than one veterinarian listed.

 

The veterinarians in our database all have a strong vested interest in animal hospice care. We have asked each of them to submit a detailed questionnaire, outlining their experience and academic background, as well as a description of how they personally provide this service and their level of experience in this field. Most are licensed veterinarians who are already offering animal hospice care but who have not attended any of The NHFP’s training seminars or symposia. Others (who have a double red asterisk** next to their names) are licensed veterinarians who have completed a training seminar in animal hospice care offered through The NHFP, have been providing such care for many years and are extremely well-versed in the field, or have attended one of The NHFP's international symposia on animal hospice care.
